Wow, what another incredible week in the Skipper Foundation class! This week we have started learning Phonics. We have looked at the phonemes S A T P. All children have done super listening and remembering of the new Phonemes. We really appreciate the time you are spending with your child at home going through their Letter and Sounds booklet and completing each phoneme. We will be learning 4 new sounds most weeks apart from the last week of each half term. Every Friday will be a consolidation day where we will review and use the sounds learnt throughout the week. (This might look slightly different some weeks depending on trips/bank holidays etc)
In addition to the ‘Letters and Sounds’ book the Foundation teachers at Damers have also created some short youtube videos that you can watch at home alongside your child. There is a video for each week which we will upload every Friday.

We have also now created our very own unique Elmer with all of the decorated squares you created over the summer. The children have enjoyed spotting their work and talking to their friends about what their designs represent.
We are looking forward to having the whole of Skipper Foundation Class in school next week (18/09/23). A quick reminder that Skipper Foundation are welcomed in for 8.50am and collection is at 3.15pm. Have a wonderful weekend.
